What happens during Eyebrow Transplant?

Who doesn’t want to get perfectly shaped eyebrows?

Of course everyone dream of having the well-shaped and smooth eyebrows. The thick and good-looking eyebrow adds a definition to one’s beauty and it also makes your eyes look bigger and attractive.

But there are some people who are having the partial eyebrows and the reasons for loss of eyebrows can be genetics, scarring, trauma or accident, over-plucked eyebrows, etc. The person having partial eyebrows or even with no eyebrow can opt for eyebrow transplant surgery.

Eyebrow transplant is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is similar to scalp hair transplantation. In this process, the surgeon removes grafts from the back and sides of the patient’s head with FUE or FUT technique and implants those hair follicles to the eyebrow area. The number of grafts required to get the fuller looking eyebrows is between 200 – 400 grafts. The purpose of eyebrow transplant is to provide the fuller and natural-looking eyebrows to the patient along with the desired shape.

You can tell your doctor during the consultation, about how you want your new eyebrows to look. The surgical process of eyebrow implantation takes around 3 – 4 hours only. The complete time period taken by the eyebrow transplant is approximately 1 year, right from the consultation to full recovery of transplanted eyebrows.

The Procedure of Eyebrow Transplant:

After applying local anesthesia, the surgeon extracts the hair follicles from the donor area, either one by one or by removing a strip of hair.

The individual active hair grafts are then stored at a low temperature.

Afterward, the follicles are trimmed so as to fit the desired brow shape and implanted into the required area.

Eyebrow Transplant Recovery & Side Effects

There can be some risks of infection if the eyebrow transplant procedure is not performed correctly. The patient may also experience slight bruising and scabbing in the transplanted regions for a short time period.

The eyebrow transplant procedure takes comparatively less time to recover. You’ll be able to resume your normal day-to-day activities within 2 – 3 days. Due to the implantation of scalp hair follicles on the eyebrow areas, the hairs will tend to grow a little faster and the patient will need to maintain their eyebrows by trimming them at a regular basis.

In order to eliminate the side effects after eyebrow transplant, the expertise and skills of the cosmetic surgeon matter greatly. So, to get the efficient results after transplantation, you need to find out the best doctor/clinic within your reach.
